Adoption Fee

The Adopter agrees to pay a non-refundable adoption fee of $__________.
This fee helps cover veterinary care and rescue expenses and is not a purchase price.

 

Health & Medical Disclosure

• The dog is adopted as-is, with all known medical and behavioral information disclosed to the best of the Rescue’s knowledge.

• The dog has received the following (if applicable):

  • Spay/Neuter

  • Heartworm Test

  • Vaccinations

  • Microchipping

• The Adopter agrees to provide ongoing veterinary care, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, and medical treatment as needed.

Spay/Neuter Requirement

If the dog is not already altered, the Adopter agrees to have the dog spayed/neutered by __________ (date) and provide proof to the Rescue.

 

Care & Responsibility

The Adopter agrees to:

• Provide proper food, water, shelter, and humane treatment

• Keep the dog as an indoor family companion (not chained or left outdoors unattended for extended periods)

• Provide regular exercise, socialization, and training

• Comply with all local animal laws and licensing requirements

 

No Transfer of Ownership

The Adopter agrees that the dog:

• Will not be sold, given away, or transferred to another person, shelter, or organization

• Must be returned to The Arlo Foundation if the Adopter can no longer care for the dog

 

Right of Reclaim

The Rescue reserves the right to reclaim the dog if:

• The terms of this Agreement are violated

• The dog is neglected, abused, or improperly cared for

No refund will be issued in such cases.

 

Home Check & Follow-Up

The Adopter agrees to:

• Allow follow-up communication (phone/email/text)

• Permit home visits if deemed necessary by the Rescue

 

Liability Release

The Adopter understands that:

• Dogs are unpredictable and may cause injury or damage

• The Rescue makes no guarantees regarding temperament or behavior

The Adopter agrees to release and hold harmless The Arlo Foundation, its volunteers, and affiliates from any liability arising from ownership of the dog.

 

Return Policy

If at any time the Adopter is unable to keep the dog, the dog must be returned to The Arlo Foundation.
 

No refunds are guaranteed.

 

Training & Adjustment

The Adopter understands that adjustment periods vary and agrees to:

• Provide patience, structure, and training

• Seek professional help if behavioral issues arise

 

Agreement Enforcement

This Agreement is legally binding and enforceable under the laws of the State of California.

 

Entire Agreement

This document constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
