Step : 01
Browse Available Dogs
Start by exploring Available Dogs on our website or social media pages. Each profile includes details about personality, needs, and ideal home environments to help you find the right match.
Step : 02
Submit an Adoption Application
Once you find a dog you love, complete our Foster/Adoption Application Form.
This helps us learn more about:

Your lifestyle and household

Experience with pets

Preferences and expectations
Our goal is to ensure the best possible match for both you and the dog.
Step : 03
Application Review
Our team carefully reviews your application. We may reach out with follow-up questions or clarifications.
Please note:
We prioritize the best fit for the dog, not first-come, first-served.
Step : 04
Meet & Greet
If your application is a good match, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet:

Meet the dog in person

Bring household members (and dogs, if applicable)

Spend time interacting to ensure compatibility

Home Check
In some cases, we may conduct a home check:

Adoption Approval
Once approved, we’ll finalize the adoption details and answer any last questions you may have.

Adoption Fee & Contract
You’ll complete:

Adoption agreement
All our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption (unless medically advised otherwise).
Your adoption fee helps cover essential care for our dogs, including vaccinations, heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and any necessary medical treatment. It also supports their daily needs while in our care—such as food, treats, collars, harnesses, leashes, beds, and more.
As an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff, we rely entirely on adoption fees and donations to continue our mission and care for dogs in need.
The Arlo Foundation reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption application to ensure the best possible match for each dog.
*Adoption fees may vary (and can sometimes be higher) in some cases depending on the dog and their specific needs.

Welcome Home!
It’s official—your new family member is coming home!
We’ll provide guidance on:

Transitioning your dog into their new environment

Basic care, training tips, and resources
Post-Adoption Support
Our support doesn’t end at adoption! We’ll be by your side every step of the way during the first three months, offering guidance and support as you and your new pup settle in. We’ll also check in with you monthly (via phone or in-person) to make sure everything is going smoothly.
